MANALI - A HEAVEN ON EARTH

Before I start my own travel adventure, I was inspired to explore the world after reading other people's  travel blog.

Below you’ll find some of my favorite travel blogs, plus many more I’ve discovered over the years. I hope you enjoy the variety of travel stories, photography, and videos which I'll be sharing.
I don't know what should I call myself for choosing winter as a time to travel Manali.  I was travelling along my group of friends. We were on our way to Manali. There was a minor landslide and a few maintenance folks were fixing the issue to clean up the jammed traffic which was in no way close to the traffic jams in Delhi. The driver became furious and ran out of the bus. It was my first trip to Manali. I was in the middle of a major life crisis and they say travelling is a major source of some valuable life lessons. I wondered whether I could get a lesson that would help me cope up from this crisis. And I actually did.

We decided to walk few kilometers in freezing cold at 2 am holding each others hand. We decided to stay in hotel for some time after walking few miles. After few  the driver came and told everything is fine and he can safely drive us towards our hotel.

Manali is a " heaven on Earth ". No matter how common place it has become, its never fails to loose charm. The gigantic snow capped mountains covered with frozen mist and breathtaking valleys swarmed with tourists from across the world are beyond mesmerizing. I have travelled places, but the trip to Manali was special because of reasons beyond human comprehension.

We stayed in one of the beautiful resorts in Manali. This was Harmony Hotels and Resorts. It was pleasant. I insisted on staying indoors since I was not particularly looking to have fun given the crisis I was going through. I wanted to sit back and relax in a peaceful corner, the resort gave the perfect refuge I was craving for. But friends are friends and there's no way to escape them. They were obstinate and determined to take me to sightseeing .

It was absolutely beautiful scenario. We then headed to the Mall road and shopping was fun. It's a colorful market with lots of beautiful stuff. I bought colorful handwoven shawls and caps.  It was freezing cold, so I put of on immediately. We enjoyed street food which were momos and Maggie and a handful of coffee. We went ahead to visit the Hadimba temple. It was soothing and calm.

P.S. The rest of my trip was insane. These were the craziest days of my life. We sat with villagers in old Manali and did everything Manali allowed us to do. Then we headed Rohtang pass and paid a visit to Manikaran. My spirits were high. I haven't stopped travelling since then and my wanderlust has keep growing ever since.
